Made from fans for fans but not by fans

When one hears of the phrase fan-made, one's mind naturally drifts towards that category of products that were created by the fans of a certain trend, product or program. In this case, however, while it likely has fans, the so-called fan-made robot from Enermax is not made by fans but, rather, of fans or, more specifically, out of fans. Cooling fans that is.

The Vegas Robot is a not-so-diminutive fan assembly of vaguely humanoid shape that, as its name implies, is reminiscent of the colorful lights of the casino city. Enermax has been a long time supplier of cooling solutions, but its latest invention seems to bend more towards the slang meaning of the word “cool” than the literal one. No doubt, the company aimed to create a cool robot, in every sense of the word, and, so, it meticulously placed fan on top of fan so that its fans might know the true meaning of a fan assembly.

The exact height of Vegas is now, officially, of 1.5 meters (150cm) and its total weight amounts to 60kg. It is made almost entirely of Apollish/Apollish Vegas LED-lit fans, with only two T.B. Silence 12cm spinners used. These two are built into the creature's head, whereas the other, variously colored spinners make up the body, feet and arms. The body is made up of 76 Apollish spinners, namely 43 12cm silver Apollish models, six 9cm red fans and 16 silver-colored 9cm spinners.

28 fans make up the arms of the robot. Out of these, 14 are 12cm Apollish Blue LED spinners, ten are 9cm Green Apollish Vegas fans and the remaining four are 12cm Apollish Vegas spinners with red LEDs. Finally, the Vegas' legs are made up of 26 different spinners. 12 of these are Apollish 9cm Blue, 12 are Apollish Vegas 12cm Green and the remaining two are red-colored Apollish Vegas 12cm.

What remains to be seen is if Enermax plans on creating a wifebot.
