With Batwing blades and Twister bearing technology

With all the graphics cards, memory kits, central processing units, laptops and desktops that have been launched over the past months, it may seem slightly odd to witness the appearance of a piece of news on case fans, but Enermax may be on to something. Now that the GTX 465 has been found to be just as hot as the GTX 480 and GTX 470, and with summer already upon us, it makes sense that high-end desktops would start screaming for more air.

Of course, water-cooling is always an option, but only hard-core enthusiasts that like to seriously overclock their PCs are willing to invest the necessary time and funds required by such a setup. The rest might even prefer the feeling of wind coming out of their rigs. Knowing this, Enermax has brought out the T.B.Silence series of 80mm, 92mm, 120mm and 140mm spinners, all with aluminum-reinforced frames.

The fans feature Enermax's very own Twister bearing technology, which increases lifetime and ensures smooth fan rotation, which also implies a lower level of noise. To be exact, all models are guaranteed to produce no more than 15dBA, even at their maximum rotary speed of 1600RPM (the minimum is 750RPM). This is possible because of a small metal ball placed inside the rotor, which becomes magnetized and holds the fan blades in place on the shaft. Also, the bearing sleeve is made out of a self-lubricating material, for increased endurance and an MTBF of 100,000 hours.

As for the fan itself, it is designed with detachable Batwing blades, which push airflow 30% higher than conventional ones can manage, for a maximum of 71.54m³/h. Even the frame contributes to the strength of the flow, thanks to its punched air intake holes. The 80mm, 92mm, 120mm and 140mm T.B.Silence Series spinners are already shipping for roughly 5 Euro each.
