Energizer goes green and debuts the solar recharger product line with the newest and most stylish unit so dully named Rechargeable Solar Charger. The launch of the product has been scheduled for the next month CES, and we sincerely hope that Energize will come up with a better name, as the device looks very-very cool and such a dull one would be truly unfair. Now, it's really good to see that one of the major battery manufacturers on the planet has decided to go green and ease a bit the burden on the environment by adding a solar rechargeable device to its product range.

One of the neatest things, apart from the “green” character of this device, is that it can recharge both AA and AAA batteries, and this means more versatility than most other similar gadgets are offering right now.

Even more, we're talking about industry standard AA/AAA cells, and this translates into even less costs, since Energizer won't have to develop a special-shape rechargeable unit for this toy. The Energizer Solar Recharger will sport a USB port, which will let you power up zounds of portables, starting with your mobile phone or PDA and even PSP, MP3 players, and ending with GPS devices, cameras, and so many more.

Energizer has also stated that the contraption will boast a weatherproof design to protect your green energy source from the inclement weather, thus prolonging its life. From what the pictures tell us so far, the flip design will make this charger easy to carry, while its weight will not be a burden to you. Even more, the Energizer Solar Recharger will sport an LED flashlight, which can come in handy at almost any time.

Besides being a solar-powered charger, this Energizer device can also be charged using a (not so green) wall AC adapter, whenever you're in a hurry. There are no further specs on the recharging time or anything else, but the announced price for the next summer instantly sets the Energizer Solar Recharger in the “I must have one of these” category: $49.99 is simply great! And please, find a real name for it!

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
