The orange skin that increases with each passing year is a sign of aging. If you're a woman, you have 90 % more probabilities to have cellulite than a man has. This is because cellulite is the product of a hormonal cocktail, fat, bad circulation, liquid retention, genetics and lifestyle.

Depending on the predominant factor, a different type of cellulites will result (there are three types).

Fatty cellulite is present on the hips, belly, bottom, and knee. It does not disappear even when being slim, but it increases when putting on weight.

Watery cellulite gives the sensation of heavy and swollen legs at the end of the day, and the inflation sensation during menstruation. The skin acquires a bad aspect on the arms and fore side of the thighs. Practicing a sport would improve liquid retention and improve circulation.

Fibrous cellulite is old, stored in time and very difficult to remove. The affected zone often has a rugged touch and hurts when pinched. When seated for a long time in the same position, you notice a certain pressure in a certain area of the leg.

Diet is extremely important in fighting cellulite: avoid foods and drinks that are rich in fats, sugars, alcohol, which are quickly stored in subcutaneous fat.

Your lifestyle must include practicing sports, even if what we're talking about here are simple movements like walking, dancing or using a static bike. Various leg exercises thrice weekly keep a good muscular tone: they will impede skin flaccidness and the typical skin bulging.

Avoid habits that induce bad circulation: too tight jeans or shirts, too high heels, avoid direct heat sources (sun or braziers). Finish your shower with a good jet of cold water applied upwards, always towards the heart. Do not cross your legs very often nor spend too much time seated. Plant extracts for improving circulation like butcher's broom, grapevine, horse-chestnuts are also useful.

Drink at least two liters of water daily, preferably without gas, and in-between meals. Draining infusions help. Avoid the salty food, which increases water retention in the body.

When preventive methods and creams don't not work, the "heavy weaponry" can be employed. Liposuction helps when cellulites is localized and the affected skin is firm, like on the buttocks, hips, knee, belly.

Lymphatic drainage is indicated each 15 days in the case of liquid retention (watery cellulite). This way, circulation is stimulated to draw back and legs are deflated.

Mesotherapy is effective is case of fatty cellulite: fat burning chemicals are injected directly in the affected areas. It works when the targeted area is small, but it will involve at least 10 sessions, but also maintenance sessions.

Electro-sculpture must be employed for fibrous cellulite. Electric shocks will work the muscles, improve circulation, toning up the skin while attacking the fat stores, but the treatment must be faithfully maintained.

And of course, for better results, these methods can be combined.
