Enemy Front, the first-person shooter set in World War 2 and built by CI Games, has finally received a release date.

Developer CI Games was previously known as City Interactive, and is best known for its Sniper: Ghost Warrior series, although it features an extensive list of games on its resume.

Enemy Front is built on Crytek's CryEngine, and was first announced back in 2011, set to launch in late 2013 but being pushed back to spring 2014 and then to this summer. The developers stated that they took the extra time to polish the core mechanics of the game in order to provide players with the best World War 2 resistance fighter experience.

Players get to shoot, snipe or sneak past Nazi forces, taking on the role of American war correspondent Robert Hawkins as he teams up with local resistance fighters, across France, Germany and Norway.

Gamers will have to carefully plan routes, pick off enemy soldiers with pinpoint accuracy from a distance, disable and dispatch troops through various acts of sabotage and even go in all guns blazing, head-first into the action.

Enemy Front will be out on June 13, 2014, for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.
