Endian Firewall Community, a "turn-key" Linux security distribution that turns every system into a full featured security appliance with Unified Threat Management (UTM) functionality, is now at version 2.5.1.

There are quite a few important changes in the new version of Endian Firewall Community, ranging from new drivers, to system improvement and new gateway options.

Endian Firewall 2.5.1 features new drivers for modern UMTS/3G dongles. The devices can be configured by choosing Analog/UMTS modem as uplink type. Besides this important addition,  the system startup procedure has been rewritten and the boot time has decreased by 50%.

The new version of Endian Firewall also features configurable update intervals, a new dashboard that is customizable through configurable widgets, trusted timestamping, new gateway options, and numerous bugfixes.
