Fans of Orson Scott Card’s landmark sci-fi novel “Ender’s Game” are finally getting their wish as it will make the transition to the big screen – along with a huge cast – this November.

Check out the first teaser trailer above in full.

Directed by Gavin Hood and produced by Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, the film stars Asa Butterfield as a young boy on whose slender shoulders lies the fate of the entire planet.

Harrison Ford plays his mentor. Hailee Steinfeld, Viola Davis, Ben Kingsley, and Abigail Breslin also star.

“In the near future, a hostile alien race called the Formics have attacked Earth. If not for the legendary heroics of International Fleet Commander Mazer Rackham (Ben Kingsley), all would have been lost,” reads a synopsis of the film.

“In preparation for the next attack, the highly esteemed Colonel Hyrum Graff (Harrison Ford) and the International Military are training only the best young minds to find the future Mazer,” adds the same.

“Ender’s Game” will be out on November 1 and, by the looks of this first teaser, it promises to be truly epic.
