Staff at Zoo Miami in the United States are happy to announce that the facility is now home to a set of clouded leopard twins. The cubs, pictured above, were born on March 13 to mom Serai, and are presently hidden from curious gazes.

Vets and keepers who have had the chance to have a look at the baby clouded leopards say that they are both girls, and that they appear to be well fed and healthy, Zoo Borns informs.

Thus, mom Serai appears not only to be feeding the little rascals on a regular basis, but also to be very attentive with them. Long story short, the cubs lack neither food nor attention.

Staff at Miami Zoo explain that, throughout the following few weeks, the cubs are to remain hidden inside the den that they share with their mom. This way, the baby leopards will get to properly bond with Serai.

When the time is right, the cubs will finally be granted permission to go about exploring the great outdoors, and there is little doubt that, when this happens, Zoo Miami will receive quite a lot of visitors.

According to wildlife researchers, clouded leopards presently inhabit parts of Southern China, Taiwan, and Malaysia. Due to the fact that many people find their pelts quite attractive, the species is now in danger of going extinct as a result of overhunting.
