Playing Civilization V, Wargame Red Dragon, DOTA 2 and The Sims 4

Andrei Dumitrescu: This weekend I will get away from the gaming world by going to the seaside for one last time this season and I have no plans to get any sort of digital device with me, only one massive old paper book and some magazines.

But just before I leave on Saturday morning, I plan to play a few matches of Wargame Red Dragon, just to make sure that I keep up with the tactical innovations coming from the community, while eagerly awaiting the launch of the second downloadable content for the title.

At the same time, I will continue to contribute to my alliance in Game of Thrones Ascent, preparing for the new phase of Alliance versus Alliance combat and the World Event that will be launched right after that.

Andrei Dobra: My weekend will be spent with quite a few different games, starting with The Sims 4. While I have already spent some time with the game for the review earlier this week, now I want to do some experiments with multiple traits and different behaviors, just to see what Maxis' game can do.

When I won't be controlling a Sim in the game, I'll probably jump back into Diablo 3, as the recent changes to the drop rate of legendary items during bounties has certainly awakened my interest, not to mention the tweaks made to Greater Rifts.

Last but not least, a bit of Dota 2 might also squeeze into my schedule, just to see how the new Techies hero plays and how the special Compendium-only features work in the game.

Radu Haulica: Last weekend, I managed to achieve the impossible and actually finish a Civilization V game in one sitting. Granted, I was half asleep by the time I emerged triumphant from the rush to the stars, by means of culturally dominating my opponents.

This weekend I plan to change my game a bit. I usually like to build and research everything, treating the game as a technological race and city builder rather than going about it the usual way, pointing sharp sticks at opponents until they yield.

Instead of pretending that my citizens are floating brains, I'm going to build myself a warmongering civilization that relies on being dumb and overly aggressive in order to show everyone that the one who wins is the one who is right.

In Master of Orion 2, one of my favorite races were the Silicoids, due to the fact that they had no interest in diplomacy, which lead to assigning 10 points to traits that are actually useful. Hopefully, my plan to quietly exterminate everyone else will lead me to success.
