Playing FM 2012, Battlefield 3, Ratchet & Clank and Dragon Age

Andrei Dumitrescu: It's hard to compete with Battlefield 3 when it comes to the big release of the week but despite this, I plan to spend most of my gaming time this weekend immersed in my various footballing quests in FM 2012, the simulation from Sports Interactive and SEGA.

I love the freedom that this game offers and the fact that it's the long term goals that capture my imagination, like making Liverpool a Champions League winning force yet again or bringing a Huddersfield out of obscurity and into the Premier League.

Of course, football management is tough work so I might need a break from time to time and at times I plan to move to Battlefield 3 for some quick shooting sequences that will allow me to blow off some Steam and maybe polish my skills a little.

Oh, and here's always time for a quick hit of Dragon Age: Legends, which has just received some new content and is also preparing for Halloween.

Andrei Dobra: The upcoming weekend will be filled by two multiplayer-heavy games, in the form of Battlefield 3, in which I'll spend some more time with its online mode, and Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One.

Battlefield 3, as you could tell by our review, is a great game, largely because its multiplayer manages to make up for the lackluster single-player story or the cooperative mode. As such, I intended to spend as much time as possible with the online mode in the first person shooter, at least until the next big release (Modern Warfare 3) rears its head.

When I won't be shooting others in an ultrarealistic military environment, I'll probably enjoy Insomniac Games' more tongue-in-cheek, sci-fi shooter, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One, which, so far, made a pretty decent impression, even without playing alongside a buddy, and just going through it with the help of the AI-controlled Clank at my side.
