Andrei Dumitrescu: The first video game I wanted to play this week is now out and I have plans to dig as deep as possible into King Arthur II – The Role-playing Wargame, the strategy title from developer Neocore Games and publisher Paradox Interactive.

Until now I have played the intro mini-campaign, which deals more with the Romans and the aftermath of their withdrawal from the area than with the actual narrative of King Arthur. I am eager to have bigger armies on the field and more chances to explore the way the morality system works and unlocks new units.

When medieval and fantasy strategy is too much for me, I plan to go back to that old stand-by Football Manager 2012, where I managed to get through my first full season with Liverpool (Arsenal took first place from me via goal difference) and plan to bring in reinforcements for the second one, when the Champion League beckons.

Andrei Dobra: I’m continuing my binge of arcade experiences this weekend, this time with three impressive titles coming from Radian Games, which has just released its Quadtastic bundle.

Chief among these experiences is Inferno+, a top down, twin-stick shooter, where you need to go through different levels, eliminate enemies and upgrade your ship to better withstand the onslaught of different opponents and obstacles.

Next up is Ballistic, a simpler kind of top down, twin-stick game, where you have one big level and need to survive through waves of different enemies for as long as possible, while triggering various bombs and upgrading your ship.

Last but not least, is Fireball, another sort of top down, twin-stick experience only this time you can’t really shoot, as you just need to avoid enemies and trigger mines that do the dirty work for you. This is definitely a more exciting experience as you always need to make sure you’re avoiding enemies and luring them towards mines.
