Playing Madden NFL 15, Diablo 3, Civilization V and DOTA 2

Andrei Dumitrescu: I am sticking with Pro Cycling Manager 2014 for the weekend while watching La Vuelta, and I am trying to test out some new strategies for my team in order to improve my stage race performance while also holding on to the wins I am getting in the classics.

I might also spend some more time with Madden NFL 15, even though American football is not the most interesting sport for me, only because I find the variety that it offers to be absolutely fascinating, with so many possibilities for both offensive and for defensive plays.

At the moment, I am trying to become very proficient with some basic passing and running moves and to create an Ultimate Team roster that can allow me to execute them well before moving to more complex elements of the game.

Madden NFL 15 is a very well put together experience and I love the fact that it can draw in even a player who prefers European to American football.

Andrei Dobra: I'll be mashing buttons on the Xbox One controller in Diablo 3: Ultimate Evil Edition. This is my first time playing the role-playing dungeon crawler on a console and I'm keen to see if the experience does, in fact, translate well to the new platform type.

I might also throw in a bit of Dota 2 or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, in order to switch things up.

Radu Haulica: Courtesy of last weekend's Steam weekend sale, I managed to get my hands on the complete works of Firaxis & friends, which will most likely be creeping into my free time one turn at a time for the foreseeable future.

When it comes to one of the most iconic names in the turn-based strategy genre, Civilization, you know you can't go wrong. I apparently did, woe is me, but now my mistake is fixed, and Sid Meier's Civilization V: Complete Edition is safely installed on my hard drive, and by the looks of it, it's here to stay.

Although there were many things that I didn't like about Civ V, I found the game to be of a better quality than last time we parted ways, and lured by the promise of riches delivered by the Gods and Kings and Brave New World expansions, I went on a binge.

My initial reservations regarding the title have now been completely blown away, and the addition of an extra layer of depth through religion and culture are what the game lacked in order to get a choke-hold on my spare time. Of which I have none now. Thanks a bunch, Firaxis.
