Playing Wargame Red Dragon, Child of Light and Endless Dungeon

Andrei Dumitrescu: For most of next week, I will be on vacation in Berlin, Germany and that means that I will spend a lot of time this weekend deciding exactly what I want to see and do in the city, something that will be somewhat complicated by the fact that another five friends are coming with me and we need to create a schedule that pleases all of us.

If I have any more free time, I plan to jump straight into Wargame Red Dragon, the new military-themed strategy title from developer Eugen Systems and publisher Focus Home Interactive, getting to know the new features and maybe trying out a few multiplayer matches.

I liked its predecessor, AirLand Battle, very much and I’ve spent many hours fighting other humans online, but I do not know if I have the time required to become competitive now because of limited time resources.

Andrei Dobra: This weekend, I'm jumping into Child of Light, the brand new side-scrolling RPG from Ubisoft Montreal, as I'm really keen to see if the Canadian studio manages to deliver a good experience or if it should stick to large projects like Assassin's Creed or Watch Dogs.

When I am not battling the forces of evil, I might once again go through a few sessions of Dead Nation: Apocalypse Edition on the PS4, as my appetite for zombie slaying wasn't fully satisfied after the review I published earlier this week.

What's more, I might go back for a few more stages in Mechanic Escape, as there are some levels where I could have earned perfect marks, but I was in a hurry and satisfied with less than that.

Radu Haulica: Amplitude Studios is definitely a game maker to look out for, as their debut game Endless Space was a solid 4X space conquest experience. Now, they have launched Endless Legend on Steam Early Access, offering a fantasy-infused Civilization experience set in the same universe.

That means that over the weekend, I'll dust off Endless Space and let it frustrate me once more with its potential and the way it just squanders, then cry myself to sleep and start another game, and another one and so on.

Dungeon of the Endless is also a notable blip on my radar, because even though I'm not a big fan of pointless games, this one manages to offer an interesting experience, a melange of tower defense and roguelike that's pretty unique, not to mention that it features some gorgeous, colorful pixel art.

That will pretty much wrap up my weekend, galactic domination over and over and over, while bemoaning the interface and lack of automation features, but nonetheless enjoying the core experience.
