Ubisoft has announced that Tom Clancy's EndWar is set to arrive for the Xbox 360 and for the PlayStation 3 on November 7. Initial reports indicated that the  game would launch in October but the release schedule for the final part of the month are so crowded, with games like Dead Space, Far Cry 2 and Fallout 3 coming in the same week, that Ubisoft decided delaying it would be a good idea.

EndWar is aiming to be a revolution in the strategy genre because it will offer voice commands as the main means to control your troops. You can utter commands in a microphone and then watch as the little people on screen scramble to do your bidding. You can create groups by voice and, because the game sports interesting mechanics where the most important elements on a map are tagged using letters, you can issue complete movement orders. Most of those who have seen the game say that the voice command element is very well implemented and that the strategy aspect is also very solid. The only drawback is that you can quickly get a sore throat from a big gaming session.

The story is typical Tom Clancy fare, with a war going on and with, of course, suspicious clues here and there of a wider conspiracy related to it. Ubisoft plans to introduce a common narrative thread to all its Tom Clancy related intellectual properties and EndWar is part of that effort.

Speaking of release dates, Ubisoft is also saying that the PC version of Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway has been delayed by a week. The console versions of the game are planned to be released on September 26. The game is set in World War II and aims to provide a realistic simulation of Operation Market Garden.
