Early last month, rumors were confirmed when TLC, the network carrying the once very popular “Jon & Kate Plus 8” reality show, announced that the series was officially coming to an end in November, pending a judge’s sentence in the ongoing lawsuit. Come this Monday, the final episode of the show will air, officially marking – for the time being – the end of the Gosselin era.

Although the show will presumably be renewed under a slightly different format once the trial between TLC and Jon Gosselin is settled, with the network looking to focus solely on Kate being a mother to eight young children, as of now, this is still in the realm of speculation. Because of this, for the meantime, fans will have to make do with the surprises TLC has in store for them with the grand finale, as summed up by Us Magazine.

It seems both estranged spouses thought of big family outings for the last episode. “During the final hour, the estranged parents of young twins and sextuplets will venture on separate outings with the kids. Jon, 32, takes the kids to a fire station near the family home in Wernersville, Pa., while Kate, 34, brings them to local dairy farm. Individually, Jon and Kate reflect on what the past has meant and what the future might hold.” the mag writes of what one should expect from the last hour with the Gosselins – that is, for those who can’t wait until Monday.

According to the same publication, it appears that TLC is almost certain of winning the case against Jon Gosselin, in which he halted production on the show on the grounds that the network was exploiting his children. So certain is TLC that it can even make semi-official announcements saying that Kate Gosselin and the adorable eight children will be back on the small screen next spring, when her own show will premiere.

As some will remember, such a thing is impossible if Jon Gosselin gets to make the presiding judge see things his way, namely that his and Kate’s children are being exploited and should not be exposed to the cameras.
