EnGarde Secure Community 3.0 Release 21

Includes Guardian Digital WebTool and the SELinux policy enhancements!

The 21st release of the EnGarde Secure Community 3.0 Linux distribution, an open source server operating system, was announced yesterday, in a press release, by the Guardian Digital. The new maintenance release comes with a lot of bug fixes, updated packages, improvements to the SELinux policy and Guardian Digital WebTool tools, and some new features.

First of all, let's enumerate the most important bugs fixed in EnGarde Secure Community 3.0.21:


· Fixed support for AMD 690V and SB600 chipsets (bug #0000205);
· The mbstring was enabled for PHP 5.2.5-2 (bug #0000201);
· Fixed support for the Intel Pro Gigabit Controllers (bug #0000202);
· The Samba installer bug, where it couldn't update the application after an upgrade to EnGarde 3.0.20, was fixed.

Below are the newly added features and enhancements that can be found in EnGarde Secure Community 3.0.21:

· The Health Center backend was completely redesigned, and it should output more accurate and reliable results;
· The Convert::ASN1 (version 0.22) Perl module was added. It is an ASN.1 Encode/Decode library;
· Guardian Digital WebTool enhancements;
· SELinux policy package enhancements.

EnGarde Secure Linux is a highly-secure open source server operating system built on a foundation of Security Enhanced Linux SELinux policies. It incorporates security at all levels by drawing on best-of-breed open source tools like Postfix, BIND, and the LAMP stack software. EnGarde Secure Community 3.0.21 is available as an ISO image for both i686 and AMD64 architectures, and can be downloaded right now from Softpedia.
