Emsisoft Anti-Malware does not benefit from huge notoriety, but those familiar with this protection set are perfectly aware of its abilities in terms of malware detection.

Version 6 of the suite brings in important improvements, some of the most important being the completely re-written dual scan engine (Emsisoft Anti-Malware and the Ikarus Anti-Virus) framework for multicore optimization and an improved scan speed, almost 5 times faster on average.

In order to reach such performance the Austrian developer delved into advanced caching to optimize scans at each run. This should also see an improvement as far as real-time protection is concerned, reducing the performance impact on the system of the file guard protection layer.

Starting version 6, Emsisoft Anti-Malware allows for missed scheduled scans to be run on the next program startup.

Another important change refers to the licensing system which sees no use for user accounts, switching instead to a simple key-based system.
