Secure Computing announced the launch of Secure Web Reporter, a tool that reports on the entire web activity of an organization. Security, compliance and performance analysis are the specific tasks that the application has to perform. Although Secure Web Reporter continuously evaluates the web traffic of a company, it can also distinguish between what is actually important for and what is absolutely irrelevant to the online activity of an employee.

The tool uses a report to warn of any security threat modifications that may appear. The necessity of changing traffic policies within the company is also underscored by the reporter, whenever the situation requires it. Companies can choose the language in which the reports are written from a range of 11. Another handy characteristic of the product is that is can be set up from the beginning to release reports with a fixed frequency. Clients receive assurances that the reports will be automatically distributed inside the company, to reach the people who can interpret the data. This saves both time and human resources, as the tool self-propagates. The final report offers all the log file information, which is collected in a database during a specified time range.

System requirements are not very demanding. The application can be used with both Windows and Linux, although Windows Vista is not on the list of compatible platforms. As already noted, organizations can opt for one of 11 languages and four report formats - HTML, PDF, XML and CSV.

Secure Computing announced two versions of the product. The Basic version will be available as of late August and will bring, as the title also clearly indicates, basic reports on the online activity of a company. The organizations that have already subscribed to Secure Web or Secure Web SmartFilter are offered the light version of Secure Web Reporter free of charge. The Premium version, which "offers additional capabilities such as advanced reports, delegated reporting and custom log processing," is already available for download.
