Julia Louis-Dreyfus must know that all these awards show galas tend to be very boring for the people at home watching, so every time she wins something, she makes sure her acceptance speech stands out one way or another. Considering that she’s been winning a lot of awards in recent years, that must prove quite a challenge.

At last night’s Emmy Awards 2014, airing live from the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, where she won her third consecutive Emmy, Julia got some help from Bryan Cranston, he of the “Breaking Bad” fame.

As she was walking towards the stage to collect her award for Outstanding Leading Actress in a Comedy Series, Cranston jumped out of his chair, and after the briefest eye contact, started kissing her furiously on the lips. She reciprocated and they didn’t stop until Jimmy Fallon duly came to her rescue.

You can see that and Julia’s acceptance speech in the video below. You can tell she was very emotional and probably also afraid she might not have enough time to thank everyone she wanted to thank. You’d imagine that, by now, she’d be used to collecting awards, but this is probably something that never loses its novelty factor.

Cranston too was one of the big winners of the night, taking home the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series Emmy for his work on the now-defunct AMC series “Breaking Bad,” on which he played a very smart chemistry teacher who, once diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, turns to cooking and dealing meth as a way to provide for his family after he’s gone.

Aside from the kiss, the real winner at the Emmys was also Cranston’s gangster-inspired moustache.
