Jimmy Fallon hijacks his Emmy because presenter said his name wrong

Gwen Stefani is the new John Travolta and Stephen Colbert and his Emmy-winning Colbert Report on Comedy Central are the new Idina Menzel. Or, as Travolta dubbed her at the Oscars 2014 in February, Adele Danzeem / Adela Dazeem / Adele Dazim. You take your pick.

Travolta made history at the Academy Awards this year, when he was supposed to introduce Idina on stage to perform the Oscar-winning “Let It Go” from Disney’s “Frozen,” and for whatever reason, he was unable to read her name off the teleprompter and completely butchered it.

Gwen Stefani pulled a similar stunt last night at the Emmy Awards 2014, though her snafu wasn’t even half as funny as Travolta’s. You can see it in the video below.

The singer, fashion designer and Voice judge / mentor was on presenting duties with Adam Levine, to promote the new season of the NBC show. They announced the winner of the Best Variety Series Emmy, The Colbert Report on Comedy Central, but Gwen pronounced it “Colbort.”

The “t” in “Colbert” is silent, but not when Gwen is reading it, as you can see in the video below. Adam tried to make things right again, but she just laughed and made room on stage for the Colbert Show team.

Jimmy Fallon also used this opportunity to have a laugh, Kanye-ing Colbert’s speech by rushing on stage and proclaiming himself the winner because Gwen had said the name wrong. It was actually pretty funny, check it out.
