14 DAY TRIAL // Piers Morgan and Jon Stewart still can’t see eye to eye and, as his Twitter can confirm, Piers is no longer keeping a secret that the dispute has gotten very personal.
This Sunday, at the Emmys 2013, for the first time in 10 years, Jon Stewart did not win Outstanding Variety Series, because the award went to Stephen Colbert.
Stewart’s Emmy run was the longest in history, so Piers thought that he could finally get back at him for all those jokes he made about CNN, by reminding him that he was practically one foot out the door.
“CNN BREAKING NEWS > It's over for Jon Stewart.... @StephenAtHome wins again,” Morgan tweeted after the awards show.
What Piers Morgan failed to recognize, probably because he didn’t do his research, was that Stewart is actually an executive producer on The Colbert Report so, technically, he didn’t lose anything at the Emmys. He simply won under a different name.
Stewart has been lamenting CNN’s way of covering breaking news for months, but he recently intensified the attacks by accusing the network of unleashing a “wrongnado” of misinformation.
