Now that the Emmys 2013 are over and people had time to let everything sink in, the first reactions to the awards gala are pouring in. Believe it or not, but they’re mostly negative.

Actress Ellen Pompeo, for one, says in a new interview cited by E! Online that the entire gala felt “dated” because it completely lacked diversity.

She offers a for instance as well.

“I didn't see any diversity in the Emmys at all. The Emmys felt so dated to me... That dance number was embarrassing. Did you see one person of color in that dance number?” Pompeo says.

One example of a diverse show is her own, “Glee’s Anatomy,” she goes on to say.

“I'm extremely proud of our very, very diverse cast which represents the world I walk around in any day,” Ellen explains.

Emmy producers should sit down and learn the lesson.
