At this year’s Emmy Awards, held on Sunday at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, actress Paz de la Huerta caused a stir once more for all the wrong reasons. Looking mighty orange with her fake tan and badly applied makeup, Paz was dubbed the biggest fashion fail of the night.
While the likes of
Gwyneth Paltrow and
Kate Winslet wowed onlookers with their fashion choices and impeccable styling, Paz did exactly the contrary, by showing up at the awards show looking as if she’d just rolled out of bed.
Even if voices in the blogosphere say she’s officially
the biggest fail at the Emmys, credit must be given where due: at least Paz was dressed up to the nines in a very flattering pink gown.
Her choice of shoes (sparkly strappy ones) was perfectly adequate for the occasion and the dress, so there was little to reproach her in terms of fashion.
However, where styling is concerned, Paz left a lot to be desired: her face was covered in caked fake tan and foundation, while the nude-purplish lipstick she chose didn’t do her any favors either.

Gather writes, blaming her stylist for her disastrous appearance.

Zimbio is even harsher in its appraisal of the actress’ looks, saying she went for the tanned zombie look, mostly thanks to the “purply-mauve shade of lipstick that makes her usually pretty lips look like two dying slugs.”
Other
voices online also criticize Paz for how bad she looked on the red carpet, pointing out she could have made more of an effort for such a big night.
