14 DAY TRIAL // The 2010 Emmy Awards took place last night, on Sunday, at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles and, as expected, the red carpet ceremony was an exquisite fashion extravaganza. Before the awards ceremony, polls asked fashion readers to cast their vote about which designer they thought X or Y would choose to wear on the red carpet. Now that it’s over, best and worst dressed lists are going online.
There were no spectacular fails, but there were spectacular achievements, as far as female celebrities’ fashion on the red carpet is concerned, as People magazine also points out.
From the best dressed women posing for the cameras during the now traditional red carpet ceremony, we include Lea Michele of “Glee,” singer Jewel, reality star Kim Kardashian, the always impeccable Claire Danes and Sofia Vergara, to name just a few.
Of course, reality mom Kate Gosselin also looked stunning in a black Carmen Marc Valvo dress, matched with Valentino shoes, and Martin Katz / Everlon jewelry and a shorter, slicker ‘do.
The same goes for comedy actress Tina Fey, who showed off her enviable figure in an Oscar de la Renta black silk organza gown, to which she added Guiseppe Zanotti shoes, VBH bag, and Lorraine Schwartz jewels.
Maria Menounos, who did red carpet coverage for NBC was positively jaw-dropping in a backless couture gown by Ralph & Russo, which had over 15,000 Swarovski elements sewn in.
As gorgeous as she looked, though, she did have some problems walking in her dress. “My dress isn’t easy to walk in… one big bead just busted, waiting in middle of street for my wardrobe person to come sew! yikes!” she tweeted during the ceremony.
Kim Kardashian was like a Greek goddess in her white Marchesa gown, which she matched with an oversized cuff by Lorraine Schwartz and a chic updo.
Equally glamorous was singer Jewel who, earlier in her career, got a lot of flack for her fashion sense. Useless to say, her coral pink, layered Zuhair Murad was flawless – and so was her seemingly careless ‘do and oversized jewelry.
As fabulous as these ladies may have been, 24-year-old “Glee” star Lea Michele was undoubtedly the best dressed of the evening, in her Oscar de la Renta gown, with Brian Atwood shoes, Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a Swarovski clutch.
