Before shooting for “Harry Potter” was even done, Emma Watson announced plans to get a college degree at the prestigious Brown University. Pressed by offers, she’s now put it on hold while she attends to her career.

In an announcement on her official website, Emma thanks fans for their constant support and announces that, given the circumstances, she’s forced to take some time off from school.

Studying will always be huge with her, she says, but, right now, she has other commitments she must see to, like acting, modeling and others.

As such, she’s no longer able to do it all, so she’s decided that the degree can wait a few months.

“As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I’ve had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible,” the actress writes on her webpage.

“I’ve decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on Harry Potter (the last one comes out this summer) and to focus on my other professional and acting projects,” Emma announces.

That doesn’t mean that she’s dropping out of school or that she plans to return years from now, she stresses. She just needs a bit of time to take care of everything else in her life.

“I will still be working towards my degree… it’s just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought : )” Emma adds, thanking her many fans for their undying support.

Some may say that they saw this coming all along: in a recent interview, Emma talked about how she needed to grow out her hair because her pixie ‘do was narrowing her choice of movie roles.

This came in contradiction with what she once said about how she wanted to take a break from acting after “Harry Potter” to focus on her studies, because it hinted that she was eager to get back in front of the camera on a new project.
