Emma Stone goes blonde for lead in “Spider-Man” reboot – and she’s thrilled about the change

Actress Emma Stone, known for her fiery hair, has crossed over to the lighter side. At a recent public event, Emma unveiled her new blonde ‘do – together with some pretty fierce bangs.

The changes celebrities make to their hairstyle and hair color always manage to get the public and the media’s attention, because they’re the ones that set new trends.

Emma, though, did not wash out the red for the sake of it: the transformation, as InStyle notes, is down to her upcoming role in the “Spider-Man” reboot, where she plays Spidey’s first love interest, before Mary Jane.

“The debate over whether blonds or redheads have more fun is really heating up: Emma Stone debuted her new bright blond strands at the Trevor LIVE charity event last night,” the magazine writes.

Emma herself told InStyle that the lighter ‘do is actually much closer to her natural shade, so here’s one more reason for her to be happy she got the part.

“It’s my Spiderman hair! Blondes do have more fun! But sometimes I look in the mirror and still feel like I’m wearing a wig,” the actress added of her dramatic change.

Matched with very basic makeup that made her eyes seem bigger, the aforementioned fierce bangs and a the cutest of little dresses, Emma was, indeed, hardly recognizable from the girl her fans know and love.

Speaking of which, after taking on roles like the ones in “Zombieland” and “Easy A,” both fans and critics are dying to see Emma in the new (and improved) “Spider-Man,” which should arrive in theaters in 2012.

As we also informed you a while back, while Mary Jane (formerly played by Kirsten Dunst) will still be present in the reboot, she won’t be Peter Parker’s main love interest.

That part will now go to Gwen Stacy, who, in the original comic books, is the one to catch Spidey’s eye before Mary Jane.
