Despite a hiccup in the promotion of his latest album, “Recovery,” which could have proven downright fatal for it, as the entire material leaked online two weeks ahead of release, Eminem is poised to go gold with his newest work. “Recovery” arrived in music stores on June 22 and preliminary numbers are already saying it will be this year’s biggest release, surpassing even Sade’s February album, HITS Daily Double informs.

Boasting countless unique and surprising collaborations (from Lil Wayne to Pink and even Rihanna), “Recovery” also brings a new sound to the table: the trademark Eminem aggressive beats, but less violence in terms of lyrics, the rapper himself once said when asked to describe it. Some even say that the leak of the entire album will eventually prove to be beneficial as it offered fans a taste of the tracks on the album and got them so excited about them that they actually decided to buy it when it comes out. Moreover, they’ve already started doing so, figures indicate.

“The record industry just scored its own golden goal. Can a full Recovery be far behind? Offering conclusive proof that Marshall still matters, Eminem’s aptly named Recovery will score the year’s highest sales debut. Look for a total of between 590-615k for the Shady / Aftermath / Interscope album, easily beating Sade’s 503k back in February. It could also beat his last album, Relapse, which sold 608k in its first week in May ’09,” the aforementioned music e-zine says.

As fans would know, “Relapse” too leaked ahead of the official release and it still went on to write music history, literally making of Eminem one of the few artists to make a truly splashing comeback. “That’s based on totals from those music retailers who haven’t painted their faces red, white and blue and shown up in South Africa with vuvuzelas in tow for the World Cup. In addition, Em’s duet with Rihanna, ‘Love the Way You Lie,’ has currently supplanted Katy Perry’s ‘California Gurls’ as the top iTunes download,” the same e-zine goes on to say.

Though many find Rihanna’s lyrics on the aforementioned “Love the Way You Lie” a bit too messed up, the singer says the duet is a “beautiful” collaboration that merges two different styles (hers and Em’s) to paint a very faithful picture of the mechanics of an abusive relationship. The song is embedded below: Rihanna is the voice of the abused, while Eminem is the abuser, and both are trapped in their relationship.
