The 32-year-old Grammy-winner artist has been hospitalized for dependency on sleep medication, just two days after he had canceled a European tour, which was set to kick off Sept. 1 in Hamburg and wrap Sept. 17 in Dublin, due to exhaustion and other medical issues. The dates won't likely be rescheduled.
According to Interscope Records spokesman Dennis Dennehy, Marshall Mathers "is in the hospital under doctors' care".
The famous rapper is believed to have checked in to a hospital in Michigan, where "he is being treated for dependency on sleep medication."
Eminem has recently slammed rumors on his retirement but stated his intentions to concentrate more on producing artists for his Shady Records label.
"When I say I'm taking a break, I'm taking a break from my music to go in the studio and produce my other artists and put their albums out", Eminem told MTV.
"When I know my next move, I'll tell everyone my next move", the rapper added.
