Due to exhaustion, Marshall Mathers III, a.k.a. rap star Eminem cancelled a tour in Europe, as his record company stated. Well, that is not entirely a surprise, considering that there were previous rumors about early retirement.
Eminem recently completed a tour with rappers 50 Cent and Lil Jon in his home town of Detroit and he was due to take another one in Germany next month.
"Eminem is currently being treated for exhaustion, complicated by other medical issues," the record company Interscope stated, but gave no other details on the artist's condition.
Anyway, the concerts on the September tour are unlikely to be rescheduled, so the fans will just have to hope and pray for a fast recovery.
On the other hand, Eminem has made it very clear on a July statement that he is going to leave the spots' light for a while, in order to promote other artists. "When I say I'm taking a break, I'm taking a break from my music to go in the studio and produce my other artists," as he says. "When I know my next move, I'll tell everyone my next move. Not some reporter who writes a story about 'this is Eminem's last album,'" declared the artist about his future plans. Apparently, it wasn't a reporter who started the retirement rumors, but his band-mate from D-12, Proof..
However, it must be exhausting being mean to your fellow artists all the time, so this situation must be good news for some people.
