If true, fans are in for a treat – and a hit even bigger than “Love the Way You Lie” from Eminem and Rihanna. A new report says that the rapper has teamed up with none other than his former enemy Cristina Aguilera for a duet that will on her new album.Since Aguilera’s “Bionic” came out last year and performed well under expectations, there’s been a lot of talk about how she aims to go higher (and, of course, better) for her next material.
Rumors have linked her with various artists for collaborations, including American Idol runner-up
Adam Lambert – sadly, Adam rubbished that one hours after it got out, on Twitter.
Now,
AceShowbiz says there’s some speculation about Eminem working with Aguilera for a song that will reportedly kill all competition in the charts when (or if) released as a single.
“Eminem reportedly is going to hook up with Christina Aguilera in a ‘killer’ song,” the e-zine writes.
“
The duet is rumored to be recorded for Christina’s next studio installment, and the pop singer is said to be excited at the prospect of releasing the track as a single,” adds the report.
Aguilera is now hard at work on the album, something she confirmed in a recent interview with Rolling Stone, shortly before the grand finale of the first season of The Voice, where she’s a judge / mentor on the panel.
An unnamed inside source confirms the above for AceShowbiz. Admittedly, there’s a lot of
pressure for Christina to deliver an album that sells like her previous releases, blowing
competition out of the water.
“Christina knows after her last album bombed that she would have to do something special for fans to be interested in her music again,” says the spy.
“It’s a killer track and is bound to be a massive worldwide hit if released as a single, which is exactly what Christina is hoping for. She can’t wait to release the record and prove all her critics wrong,” the insider is further quoted as saying.
