Eminem is preparing to drop a brand new album this month: “Recovery” arrives in music stores in June 22 and, judging by how the first release off it, “Not Afraid,” performed in the charts, it is a certified winner. A second song from the album has ended up online, MTV News informs, and it’s as surprising as it’s good, fans are already saying on dedicated forums.

“Won’t Back Down” is a duet with Pink and brings to the table a very different sound, with guitar riffs that contrast with Eminem’s angrily spat lyrics. Pink’s voice was recorded, according to the rapper himself, after the song was completed, but she was meant to be on it from the start. As we also reported, “Recovery,” the new album, is laden with surprising collaborations, from Pink to Lil’ Wayne and Rihanna.

“The second single from Eminem's forthcoming Recovery album, ‘Won’t Back Down,’ was released online Thursday (June 3) via Rap Radar. The track, produced by DJ Khalil, features Pink and finds Eminem firing off a slew of lyrical punch lines. ‘Listen, garden tool/ Don’t make me introduce you to my power tool,’ the Detroit native raps over Khalil’s spiked organs. ‘You know the [expletive]ing drill/ How you douche bags feel?/ Knowing you’re disposable, Summer’s Eve, Massengill’,” MTV says of the release.

“For ‘Won’t Back Down,’ [Eminem] explained, Pink was added to the track after it was completed. ‘When I did the song that I did with Pink, I laid my parts first and kind of heard her on the record and felt that she would smash this record,’ Em said. Pink certainly delivers a fiery warning on the chorus. ‘You can sound the alarm, you can call out your guards/ You can fence in your yard, you can pull all the cards/ But I won’t back down, I won’t back down,’ she sings,” MTV further says.

As also noted above, “Recovery” is scheduled for release on June 22. Until then, fans should keep an eye out for Eminem’s brand new video for “Not Afraid,” which drops tomorrow, on June 5. Below is the rapper’s duet with Pink, “Won’t Back Down” – enjoy.
