The whole world is struggling these days to get all kinds of famous people's belongings. Whether it's about Jim Morisson's first-ever-listened disc, or Jimi Hendix' first broken guitar string, or Kurt Cobain's last used deo spray, all these gadgets that were once touched by someone famous have chances to become famous themselves and, what is more, extremely valuable.
Just imagine then what mass hysteria for fanatic collectioners when they hear that King-of-rock'n'roll's first owned property goes on sale online! From Friday (when the house was posted on eBay) until Tuesday morning, there was already an offer of 100, 000$ made by Elvis Unlimited, the organization that conducts a museum and a shop dedicated to Elvis in Denmark.
The house was bought in 1956, when Presley was only 21 years old. He and his family (parents and grandmother) only spent one year there. Elvis' success brought them enough money to afford an even fancier place to live (Graceland, a two-story colonial house), but, in the same time, a lack of privacy that made the whole family want to move away.
In April 1956, a month after settling in the house at 1034 Audubon Drive in Memphis, Elvis Presley hit all charts with "Heartbreak Hotel" who reached soon after release No. 1 on Billboard. Since back then the number of rising musical stars was slightly smaller than today, all crowd's instincts of invading idols' space were directed towards Elvis Presley. Consequently, the house in Memphis was constantly surrounded by fans lined up to grab a little piece of his glowing image.

The house has about 3000 square feet of living space and still has the walls covered with the original music themed wallpaper from 1956. Some other leftovers from that era include the wire placed around the house by Mr. Presley Senior in order to prevent possible fans intrusions.
The sale is being handled by Honky Tonk Hall of Fame LLC in Nashville. All bidders must prequalify first, and then go on the online bid. The bidding period will end May 14th.
