Earlier this week, the first photo of baby Zachary Jackson, Sir Elton John and David Furnish’s son, came out in the press. Now, more excerpts from the interview the celebrity couple gave to OK! Magazine are surfacing.
Ever since the two announced they had
become first-time parents back in December last year, the question that’s been on everyone’s lips is who the father was.
In the OK! interview, they reveal that they don’t know for certain – which is the closest thing to saying they’re both the daddy.
From an emotional point of view, they surely are.
“We both contributed,” David Furnish says of the procedure of mixing specimens that was used in their case, which is currently illegal in the UK but used in the US.
“For the time being we don’t have a clue. We look at him every day and at the moment he has Elton’s nose and my hands,” Furnish explains.
Not that it mattered who is really the father. “Neither of us care. He’s our child. The important thing is that he’s healthy and happy and loved,” he says.
Speaking of love, Elton John says for the same magazine that he doesn’t plan on spoiling little Zachary with material things – others do that for him already, he adds with a laugh.
“There just aren’t proper words to describe that feeling. It’s indescribable. It was just... We have a son,” he gushes for the same publication.
“I’m ready to have a child and lavish my love on our son and not spoil him but be there for him and advise him,” the singer says.
“We don’t want to spoil him materially, although he’s already been spoiled rotten by people buying him stuff! We just want to give him some wisdom,” Elton adds.
