It's no coincidence that the founder of SpaceX served as an inspiration for Tony Stark

It's no secret that billionaire inventor Elon Musk served as the inspiration for the movie version of Tony Stark, aka Iron Man.

Granted, the movie version can fly in a robot suit, but the real life one has built a successful electric car company and a successful space flight company, so there are pros and cons to both.

Still, in the tradition of life imitating art, Elon Musk has unveiled that he has been working on a version of the futuristic hand-gesture UI Iron Man uses in the movie.

"We figured out how to design rocket parts just w hand movements through the air (seriously). Now need a high frame rate holograph generator," he tweeted.

"Will post video next week of designing a rocket part with hand gestures & then immediately printing it in titanium," he added.

Jon Favreau, who directed the first two Iron Man movies, asked whether Iron Man was the inspiration. "Yup. We saw it in the movie and made it real. Good idea!," Musk replied.
