14 DAY TRIAL // Everybody loves Ellen DeGeneres. Not only is she funny and always open-minded, but she’s also extremely relatable, unlike most celebrities now on TV. According to a new report, that’s all a façade: Ellen is perhaps the vainest celebrity out there.
The National Enquirer claims (story via CB) that Ellen is putting up a front meant to deceive audiences (that is, her fans at home) into believing that she’s really very down to earth and, as such, completely relatable.
In fact, she’s anything but low maintenance, the report argues. She’s already spent a fortune on plastic surgery and is constantly investing in her looks, terrified that she will start looking her age one day.
“She spends hours in front of the mirror hiding her secret cosmetic surgery. Publicly, Ellen is all about achieving a minimal makeup look but the reality is that she’s spent major bucks for a natural-looking face-lift and other cosmetic procedures,” an insider says for the tab.
Her makeup team is also well versed in hiding surgery scars, so Ellen invests a lot of money in that too.
“The big challenge for her makeup and hair team is to conceal scarring due to the work that she’s had done. It usually takes them at least two and a half hours to give Ellen the peaches-and-cream glow that her fans love,” the spy goes on to say.
According to various industry insiders, Ellen has had work on her entire face and neck, aimed to turn back time and make her look younger than her age (she is 54 years old).
She’s also getting plenty of maintenance work in the meantime, with laser peels and regular Botox, the Enquirer claims.
Of course, Ellen would never own up to any of this, because it goes against the very image of herself she’s trying to project.
“Ellen has made a name for herself as the queen of anti-glamour and has never admitted to having any procedures. She hates to portray the image of actually caring about her appearance,” says the spy.
“The cosmetic procedures she’s had, paired with highly specialized makeup techniques, make Ellen look awake and alert even when she’s completely exhausted. The bottom line is that even if you are as down to earth as Ellen, in Hollywood your face is your fortune,” the insider muses.
