14 DAY TRIAL // Elle Macpherson is getting ready to walk down the aisle once more. The supermodel and her former beau Jeffrey Soffer have recently rekindled their romance – and he’s just proposed, reports indicate.
For the time being, official confirmation of this and more details on the engagement (assuming it’s real) are still pending.
The Examiner confirms the happy news.
“The 48-year-old Australian supermodel plans to wed billionaire Miami-based real estate developer Jeffrey Soffer. Since Elle Macpherson is engaged, she'll reportedly move to Florida to be with Soffer,” says the celebrity e-zine.
Elle lives primarily in Britain with her children.
The news of the engagement comes hot on the heels of reports that Elle and Jeffrey had called it quits precisely one year ago.
It was then that various tabs ran the story of the breakup, with insiders saying that he had already moved on, notes the aforementioned publication.
Admittedly, he started dating a younger model right after he split with Elle, some 25-year-old Colombian beauty.
“We all want things to turn around for Elle. She is an incredible woman and doesn’t deserve this,” a source claiming to be close to the situation was telling the tabs at the time, implying that Jeffrey’s infidelities might have led to the split.
Whichever the case back then, if it’s true they’re engaged, they clearly found a way to work out all the differences.
Elle Macpherson, known as “The Body” in the industry (for obvious reasons), was married to Gilles Bensimon, whom she met in 1984 while on a shoot for Elle magazine.
Two years later, they tied the knot but the union dissolved in 1989.
The model dated Arpad Busson afterwards, with whom she has two sons, but that romance didn’t work out either.
In 2010, she started seeing Soffer, with reports saying they broke up in March 2012 – until now, when they’re reportedly back together and engaged.
