Dame Elizabeth Taylor, one of Michael Jackson’s closest and oldest friends, has been rushed to the hospital after her condition worsened over the past couple of days, the
New York Post says. The 77-year-old actress is now at an undisclosed hospital in Los Angeles, and her condition continues to be unknown.
Sources are telling the publication that Taylor’s health began to deteriorate immediately when she learned that her close friend had died. Moreover, spies claim, not being allowed to attend the public memorial and be included on “the B-list” by the Jackson clan only made things worse for the actress, since she was set on paying one last homage to her friend.
If true, this would contradict Taylor’s own words, when she wrote on Twitter that she did not want to be part of the media “whoopla,” and would not attend Michael’s memorial.
Taylor has not stopped crying ever since the King of Pop passed away, insiders reveal for the aforementioned publication. She was already bound to a wheelchair when the tragedy occurred and in the care of nurses at her home in Beverly Hills, and her condition got progressively worse as the realization sunk in that she was to continue living without her best friend ever, it is further being said. Not being able to attend the memorial like she wanted – and was prepared – to do was just the straw that broke the camel’s back, spies add.
“The heart’s gone out of her. She’s suffering weakness, tiredness, exhaustion, emotional draining. She hasn’t stopped crying. She and Michael were devoted to one another.” The Post writes of the star’s condition before being rushed to the hospital the other day. As fans must know, this is not the first time that speculation has it Taylor is unable to cope with Michael’s loss, since a similar rumor also emerged days after his passing. The actress herself rubbished that one on her Twitter page, where she also explained why she
wouldn’t attend the memorial service at the Staples Center.
“My love goes out to Katherine and Michael’s beloved children. I said I wouldn’t go to the Staples Center and I certainly don’t want to become a part of it. I love him too much. I just don’t believe that Michael would want me to share my grief with millions of others. How I feel is between us. Not a public event. And I cannot guarantee that I would be coherent to say a word. I’ve been asked to speak at the Staples Center. I cannot be part of the public whoopla.” Dame Elizabeth Taylor wrote a short while back.
