14 DAY TRIAL // Elizabeth Hurley and husband Arun Nayar are having marital problems: shortly after a British tab claimed she was cheating on him with cricketer Shane Warne, the star has announced separation on Twitter.
Liz and Arun started dating shortly after she ended her romance with Hugh Grant, in 2002. Five years later, in 2007, they were married in two lavish ceremonies, one in England and one in India.
Three years into their marriage and without as much as a peep in the media they were having problems, Liz says they’re separated. No word of divorce just yet, as Us Magazine points out.
“Not a great day. For the record, my husband Arun and I separated a few months ago. Our close family & friends were aware of this,” the 45-year-old model and actress tweeted over the weekend.
As noted above, the tweet with the confirmation comes just hours after News of the World ran a story about how Liz was cheating on the textile billionaire with Shane Warne, with whom she was photographed together, kissing and acting like a couple.
“Hurley’s announcement coincided with a News of the World report claiming her alleged affair with cricketer Shane Warne,” Us Magazine says.
“The tabloid has pictures and video of the couple kissing, and says that they spent the night together Wednesday at London’s Bentley Hotel,” the same report notes.
Indeed, sources speaking to News of the World vouch that Liz and Shane spent the night together at the glitzy hotel, acting like honeymooners – since no one knew of the separation, it’s no wonder the tab concluded she was cheating on him.
“They were so passionate they looked like honeymooners. It was electric. They looked completely smitten and blissfully happy together,” an eyewitness said for NOTW over the weekend.
Liz and Arun were married for 3 years. They had no children, but they were raising together Damian, the 8-year-old boy Liz had with former beau Steven Bing.
