In case you are one of the many pilots adventuring into the huge universe created by the folks over at Frontier Developments, then you should know that developers are preparing a big update that will bring lots of changes to Elite: Dangerous.

The update 1.1 is already in beta testing for the remaining of the week and if nothing wrong gets in the way, it might see a public release as early as next week.

Until then though, those who want to taste Elite: Dangerous 1.1 Beta can do so now because the update is available for download via Frontier’s website.

Since the update has been released for testers, developers confirmed they have received quite a lot of feedback, so if you plan on trying it out make sure to offer your opinions or submit any bugs via in-game tickets.

Due to the focus on 1.1 update, Frontier Development confirmed that it would take a bit more for the Mac version of the game to arrive, but they plan on entering beta by the end of March. The game will then be tested for around six weeks before being released.

The story events have been deactivated in the beta

Before you start to download 1.1 update for Elite: Dangerous, you should keep in mind that developers have deactivated the story events for the purpose of this test. It’s also worth mentioning that progress may be reset at any time.

Also, if you’re one of those gamers who hate spoilers, then avoid downloading the update. According to developers, “participation in the test may provide spoilers by giving access to items that players do not currently own.”

If you decided to go ahead to the testing, you may want to know what exactly you will be able to test and what feedback you are required to provide. You can check below the full changelog of 1.1 update beta for Elite: Dangerous.
