Frontier Developments and Gollancz, a part of the prestigious Orion Publishing Company, have announced three tie-in novels set in the universe of Elite: Dangerous, as well as the three authors who will get to display their penmanship.

Elite: Wanted will be written by Gavin Deas, telling a space epic from two opposing points of view, that of the hunter and that of the hunted. A routine piracy mission goes wrong, and the crew of the Song of Stone realize that they have someone who might finally be able to outclass them on their trail, a fearsome bounty hunter. The twist is that not even the bounty hunter knows what she's been hired to do, what exactly is contained within the container she's been sent to retrieve, or even the fact that she's not the only hunter going for the prize.

Elite: Nemorensis by Simon Spurrier will tell the story of star-crossed lovers who go on the run after stealing a spaceship, living a life of random attacks on unsuspecting victims and reveling in the fame and glory of violence. Urged by the youth of the Federation to put on an even flashier show, the couple knows that it's only a matter of time until their celebrated killing spree comes to an end. But someone else is also following the two, someone who knows why the two are so obsessed and who has another plan for their deaths.

Elite: Docking is Difficult, to be written by Gideon Defoe, will explore the mundane side of life in the far reaches of the universe. On seemingly the worst planet in the Universe, a young man named Misha dreams of stars and adventure, but unfortunately he has to do his chores first. An unexpected death draws the young man and a beautiful customs officer into a whirling web of system-wide conspiracy, smuggling, international art thieves, corporations and exploding pigs, offering Misha the chance to prove he has what it takes to become Elite!

Editor Marcus Gipps has hand-picked the authors, who will "ensure continuity and reflect the evolving game world" of Elite: Dangerous. The books will be available worldwide in both hardback and ebook edition, and retailers all around the world should have preorders set up in a couple of days.

Additionally, another independent novel, Elite: Reclamation, has been successfully funded through Kickstarter and will be written by Drew Wagar, allowing more epic adventures to take plans among the stars. The novel has received official approval from Frontier Developments and will be released later this year.

Elite: Dangerous is currently scheduled for release on Windows PC and Mac sometime at the end of the year.
