Elisha Cuthbert Tries to Bring Sexy Back

The actress put in a long-awaited public appearance

Elisha Cuthbert, back from the dead, back to looking hot

For all you Elisha Cuthbert fans out there, here is some reasonably good news: despite seemingly falling off the radar lately, ditching public attention and Paris Hilton's company, the Canadian actress is definitely working on getting her sexy back. Not that is was ever completely gone, but there was something about the short blonde hair, Mena Suvari look and oversize, white-rimmed glasses that simply screamed "lesbian affair with the aforementioned Paris Hilton". Metaphorically speaking, of course. However, several very recent pictures of Cuthbert just hit the Internet, and she's looking more stylish and feminine than we've had a chance to see her in a long time - which will mean nothing for her die-hard fans, of course, but will make all the difference in the world for those of you rooting for the return of the old, way hotter Elisha.

fact that she used to date Sean Avery, one of NHL's most controversial trouble makers - something definitely caused the hot "Girl Next Door" actress to disappear for a while. Or it may simply have been residual annoyance at losing the lead role in "Fantastic Four" to Hollywood's hottest big-mouthed celebrity, Jessica Alba. Either way, these new photos featuring Elisha deserve a heads up and a nod. The black satin dress works well with the lacquered, oversize belt and the clutch, the shoes look hot and she's almost smiling. We're therefore safe to call that a good Elisha sighting.

Little problem, though - what's with the slightly bloated face and the almost-double chin and the Olsen-like straggly hair? While it probably feels good to have as much money as the diminutive twins with a fondness for wearing fur and mis-matching colors and textures, it's no good going for the "Olsen hair" look, not when we know Elisha's hair can look a lot better when she's sporting her glamorous, old Hollywood curls.
