Unfortunately, there are still some who have no issues in locking their pets in cars which are left out in the sun, and going then about to mind their own business.

However, Italian model Elisabetta Canalis – whom most people know as George Clooney's ex-girlfriend – now teamed up with PETA and made a video to raise awareness about how animals feel when abandoned by their owners in extreme temperatures.

As the celebrity explains, the inside of a car standing under direct sunlight can reach unbearable temperatures in no time, which means that the animals can suffer from heat strokes and even die.

Hopefully, her popularity will help draw attention to this on-going problem, and people around the world will learn to take better care of their pets, rather than just abandon them without any second thoughts.
