Over time, we've managed to come across plenty of audio speakers featuring some pretty unusual shapes, and that's also the case with the ones we'll talk about as follows, namely the Planet L speakers from Elipson.

Although they sport quite a high-end, attractive design (looking like the type of devices you'd “encounter” in a starship of the future or who knows what distant galaxy world), the speakers from Elipson are also capable of delivering very good quality audio.

So, the speakers provide a 48 - 20000 Hz functioning frequency range, 6 ohms impedance, 90 dB sensitivity, and support a maximum audio power of 60 watts (a 30-80 watts amplifier is also required).

The aforementioned audio specs are further enhanced by the Bass Reflex, magnetically shielded enclosure, not to mention the Elipson drivers themselves (a crossover featuring a frequency value of 3800 and 12-18 drivers, medium drivers with 6.50-inches in diameter, featuring a paper cone and ferrite magnet, as well as the 1-inch soft cone tweeters, with neodymium magnet).

Since their design and form factor are two of the Planet L's speakers most important sales points, we'll also have to mention that these things are not exactly ultra-compact, measuring (with grill and terminal) 11.4 x 11.4 x 11.4 inches (290 x 290 x 290 mm), weighing 5 kilos each and being available in three different color versions, namely lacquered red, white or black.

Plus, in order to enhance the visual effect provided by the speakers, users can also order optional stands that were designed specifically for them by the Elipson team of designers.

In spite of the fact that we're talking about some pretty attractive audio solutions, both in terms of design and features, the Elipson Planet L speakers not exactly as expensive as we might have expected them to be, since they sell for around 599 pounds sterling (about $965) a pair, which is quite a fair price, all things considering.
