The publisher is listening to players and using their opinions

Patrick Soderlund, one of the executive vice presidents of Electronic Arts, says that his company does not merit the title of worst company in the United States and that he wants gamers to evaluate it based on the quality of games rather than on business decisions.

He tells MCV that “You are bound to make mistakes, but when you do, just be clear to communicate that you agree it was a mistake, and you are taking the appropriate actions to fix them. Not a single person or company will do everything perfect. There is no such thing as a perfect.”

He adds, ”My goal is to be seen as the best in the business. I want people to recognise us for the games we make rather than anything else. Whether that is the Worst Company in America or whatever people don’t like. We need to be remembered and respected for the games we make.”

Electronic Arts has recently gone through a leadership shakeup, and the new Chief Executive Officer, Andrew Wilson, has pledged to listen to the feedback coming from players and modify all policies negatively affecting them.

A first step was made when the publisher eliminated the much hated Online Pass from all its titles.

Soderlund claims that, if everything goes according to plan, Electronic Arts might be voted the best company in the United States in a few years.

At the moment, the company is focusing on the titles it has launched for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.

NBA Live 14 has not offered the quality EA was expecting, but the Sports team working on it promises quick improvements.

A constant stream of updates and new DLC are also planned at DICE for Battlefield 4.

Madden NFL 25, FIFA 14, and Need for Speed: Rivals have performed as expected.
