Publisher Electronic Arts has registered the website TheSims4.com at some point in early July, suggesting that the company is getting ready to announce a new installment in its long running life simulation series, possibly at the Tokyo Games Show that takes place in September.Publishers have been known to register web sites that use variations of the name of important franchises as a way to make sure that they are not used by other entities that seek to profit from their clout. In recent years web site registrations have been seen as a sure sign that a project was in
development and the fact that Electronic Arts has not commented on the new site might mean that the company is preparing an official announcement and wants to have all its bases covered. Electronic Arts recently ended speculation linked to the next game in the Sims series, officially announcing that The Sims Medieval was set to arrive on the PC and on the Mac in March 2011. The new game will take players back to the Middle Ages and will apparently have more of an adventure feel, with the player able to built a kingdom of his own by performing a series of quests while also taking care of the more primary needs of his character, like nourishment and housing. The Sims 3 is now out on the PC and on the Mac and those who game on consoles will also be able to get the game on October 26 for the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, the Nintendo Wii and the DS. Electronic Arts is also planning to launch Sims 3 for the Nintendo 3DS, the handheld that allows players to experience three dimensional gaming without the use of specialized glasses. It's not clear what Electronic Arts might be planning for The Sims 4 but a lot of rumors have been swirling around that the developers might be interested in adding more social elements to the life simulation series.

It can either mean outsourcing the game VIA p2p connection or adding social features in game to characters like more social functions.
Anyways if the Sims series doesn't go back online it will be the end of that. |
| Comment #2 by: Ivory on 01 Feb 2011, 20:46 UTC | reply to this comment | i hope that when they make the Sims 4 is more realistic when it comes to life event. like teen pregnancy, drugs, alcohol, murder, jail time, marrying more that one Sim, incest, raper, pregnancy termination, and wife or husband beater. Make the sims neighborhood like the sims 2 and take the personality and body options from the sims 3. |
| Comment #3 by: Rachel Lynn H. on 01 Apr 2011, 17:21 UTC | reply to this comment | I disagree with rape being allowed, along with drugs and alcohol and murder. I mean, those would make the game rated Mature and not very playable (or likeable in my opinion). And I don't think abortion would be very popular or should be allowed in The Sims 3. Plus the "getting married" option in the game should be like in The Sims 2, just have high enough bars. There need to be wedding chapels, as well as an easier way to marry sims and have them fall in love, local TV station network so that Sims could have careers such as TV Program Host, Commercial Product Seller, etc. Plus, how about more clothing choices like Burlesque, Steampunk, and more? And more career choices like a Nanny, Psychologist, Animal Veternarian, Mechanic, etc.? And themes for TS4 bedrooms and bathrooms like Kawaii, Girly, Sporty, Gothic, Punk, Rave, Emo, Scene, Preppy, Nerdy, etc. as well as hotels like TS1: Vacations where the sims can sleep in and stay for a while and meet new sims with new themes: A country-style hotels in the sim version of Nashville, an romantic modern style hotels in the Sim version of New York, and futuristic-themed eco-friendly apartments in the Sim version of Los Angeles. Let us dress in all the clothing and hairstyles both from the Sims 3 Store and game and the Sims 2 game and store, also. please have a lot more people in the Sims 4 nightclubs than 1 or 2 like in The Sims 3. Plus, there should be new style dances like the Robot, Belly dancing (with belly dancing outfits), Ballet, the Tango and the Waltz, Jitterbug, and Moonwalk. |
| Comment #4 by: yh i said that on 01 Aug 2011, 17:21 UTC | reply to this comment | I think getting married is the easyest thing to do on the sims 3 i also think that if you don't want a baby JUST WOOHOO i think that teenage pregancey sounds like a okay idea but i do think this will be unliked highly by parents also the sims 2 is a pretty confusing game i just don't get how you do most of it also in the sims 2 i can't get a women to have a baby without dieing it's just stupid and lastly(Ithink) the sims 4 would not be a good idea because it would come out to soon the sims 3 is still getting expanshion packs and theres lots more to come and EA if you want more interations add them in expashion packs like the sims 3 genoraittions you added "Be frizky" to romantic and "acctack with claw" if your with a toddler i would recormend that EA adds more towns for the sims 3 i'm getting a little bord of the towns and can i just say thats a shock because i play the sims 3 like 24/7 so i dissagree with the sims 4 too soon wait a wile like EA did with the sims 2 and the sims 3 i waited ages for that and also i would love the sims 3 sesons and i'm looking forward to the sims 3 pets this fall 2011 |
| Comment #5 by: Psychosis on 24 Aug 2011, 14:59 UTC | reply to this comment | Electronic Arts also registered thesims5.com, thesims6.com and so on, at the same time they registered thesims4.com. I suppose they only did that as a precaution, so that those domains would be theirs in case some new releases came along. I don't think they're planning on making a Sims 4. They have more than enough costs with Sims 3 and other games already.
If they were to consider some improvement, I think they'd try to create a game similar to Second Life. If, however, EA decides to do something like this, I'm sure it will be suitable for kids, as all other Sims games are. |
| Comment #5.1 by: Joe on 30 Aug 2011, 19:19 GMT | I think they should keep the open living neighborhood. It works for the Sims Series. I got tired of waiting for ten minutes for my game to load. I also think they should have less rabbit holes. Pregnancy should be included, but only for young adults and adults, as they have it now. (But to have the option to turn on/off rabbit holes in the base game.) More outfits for all genders and ages, too. More realistic weddings, too. Like the father of the bride walking his daughter down the aisle. More job professions, such as being a preacher and being the president of the town. They should run for office, too. For authors, the Sims should promote their books, not become a instant best-seller.
More design options, too, such as realistic houses. Option to make split-level houses without warped walls, as well as attaching garages to houses without warped walls, either. Keep the Create-A-Style tool. I like it. | |
