Video game publisher Electronic Arts has expressed a willingness to work with hardware developer Nintendo in order to offer more support for the upcoming Wii U home console than it did for the original Wii.

Frank Gibeau, who is the leader of the EA Games publishing label, has told CVG that, “We’ve got a couple of more games in development for Wii U and we’ll have a bigger line-up for Wii U than we did on the Wii. It is the first next-generation platform coming out so we’re really supporting it.”

The executive failed to directly offer any names and, up until now, the only title that the public has seen running on the Wii U is Mass Effect 3, which is already out on the PlayStation 3, the Xbox 360 and the PC.

He added, “Just looking at E3 and where we’re at, we wanted to hold our fire a little bit on a couple of the other games that we’re working on. We’ll have more announcements this summer on the rest of the Wii U line-up.”

At E3 2012 Ubisoft has shown both Assassin’s Creed III, its open-world action title, and the new ZombiU mix between strategy and shooter working on the Wii U, while Warner Bros allowed players to control Batman in the already released Arkham City.

THQ has also made it clear that its upcoming Darksiders II will have a version for the new Nintendo console while Activision has refused to say whether it is preparing to deliver a version of its Call of Duty: Black Ops II for the new device.

The Wii U was re-revealed at E3 2012 and Nintendo allowed players to experience more games linked to it and see how the touch screen controller worked to enhance their experience.

It also revealed a new Pro controller that looks very close to the layout of the Xbox 360 one.
