Video game publisher Electronic Arts announces that Matthew Bromberg is the new overall leader of the BioWare label, which means that he will oversee all projects that are currently under development at its various studios.

The executive was previously the leader of the Austin division of the company and one of the main developers behind the transition of Star Wars: The Old Republic from a subscription-based model to a free-to-play MMO.

Before that, Matthew Bromberg was the chief executive officer and the president of Major League Gaming, according to VentureBeat.

At the moment, BioWare is working on Dragon Age: Inquisition, which will be launched in late 2014, a new Mass Effect title, expansions for Star Wars: The Old Republic and a new game based on the universe that’s currently owned by Disney.

It’s unclear whether Matthew Bromberg’s appointment is a sign that BioWare will create more online-oriented titles in the near future.
