The publisher isn't that interested in the Nintendo console

Electronic Arts has confirmed that it has no games currently in development for the Nintendo Wii U home console, but it's not ruling out future projects for the recently released device.

Nintendo launched the Wii U home console last November, and one of the device's main third-party backers was EA, which launched quite a few big games, ranging from Mass Effect 3 to FIFA 13, Madden NFL 13, or even Need for Speed: Most Wanted.

Now, however, the publisher has confirmed to Kotaku that it currently has no games in development for the Wii U.

This lack of interest is correlated with claims from EA studio DICE, which mentioned that Frostbite 3, the engine that will power most of the company's next big games, isn't running well on the Wii U.

Even so, the company isn't ruling out the release of less demanding sports games in the FIFA or Madden NFL series, so the future is unclear for Wii U owners.
