So says Patrick Soderlund

The console war has been undergoing for quite some time among the top three companies involved in creating hardware for the general market, Nintendo, Microsoft and Sony. But even though they have largely kept it to themselves, big name developers and publishers like to throw in their two cents every once in a while.

Now is the turn of the senior vice president of EA Games Europe, Patrick Soderlund, which has talked with the Official Xbox Magazine and has revealed that the company has already maxed out on the Xbox 360, but still has a long way to go on the PlayStation 3 console. But don't worry, Xbox 360 fans, as he believes that thanks to Project Natal it still has the edge on the PS3.

“I do think that we'll see developers inside the organisation getting to understand the PS3 better and I think that we're getting more power out of PS3 right now. I think that we've maxed out the 360 but we haven't maxed out the PS3,” Soderlund said. “I like the Natal, that's cool. It's an interesting device, so I'm truly impressed by Xbox. It's my personal favourite console. I think Microsoft is on a roll right now. They're doing really well. If I was Sony, I would have a headache, to be honest.”

So it seems that future EA games for the Xbox 360 won't look the same as their PlayStation 3 counterparts, as the developers from the publisher begin to master Sony's big black box. Let's hope that all of the future big budget titles from the company will still offer the same great experience no matter on what console they will appear.

But then again, this might be the same industry talk in order to make gamers invest in new devices and, at the same time, excuse the companies that made them for the future games that might not bring any new big innovations to previous titles.
