But the company is losing sales on current-gen consoles

Video game publisher Electronic Arts claims that it has a market share of 40 percent on the PlayStation 4 from Sony and 30 percent on the Xbox One from Microsoft.

At the same time, Andrew Wilson, the chief executive officer of the company, says that the Electronic Arts is also seeing a bigger than expected decline in the numbers associated with the older Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

He is quoted by Gamasutra as saying that, “The uptake of next-gen consoles has been faster than we expected. The six titles we released collectively sold above expectations and exceeded our third quarter forecasts.”

The company is expecting next-gen consoles to have an install base of around 10 million units by the end of the current fiscal year.

Video games launched for the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4 have generated solid sales, but the console transition process seems to represent a problem for most publishers.
